From Generative to 3D Print

Here’s a technique that I heard about a while ago but haven’t used too much. If you didn’t know, there is a feature in Cura that allows you to import an image and represent that image as a 3d model.

Cura will represent all dark colors as peaks and lighter colors as valleys. A high-contrast image seems to work the best.

Above is the starter image I used.
I set the image to black and white and upped the contrast.
Above is the 3d print freshly done.
Above you can see the peaks and valleys.
